This replacement kit is intended for select Hayward salt chlorine generator systems that use a compatible flow switch and PVC tee setup. It should not be treated as a universal flow switch for every pool chlorinator or plumbing system.

For systems that already have a usable tee installed, the Hayward GLX-FLO-RP 15 cable flow switch assembly without tee may be a better match.

If your system uses an HP-style Aqua Trol setup, check the Hayward GLX-FLO-HP flow switch assembly instead of assuming this tee-style kit will fit.

When to Replace the Flow Switch

A flow switch may need replacement if the chlorinator shows “No Flow,” “Low Flow,” or similar flow-related alerts while the pump is running correctly. It may also be needed if the cable is damaged, the sensor is stuck, or the switch does not respond after cleaning and proper water flow checks.

Before replacing the part, inspect the filter, pump basket, valves, salt cell, and plumbing for blockages. Low water movement can trigger the same type of warning even when the flow switch is not defective.

Installation Tips

Turn off power to the pump and salt chlorine generator before removing the old flow switch or cutting into the plumbing. Release system pressure and make sure the pipe size and tee orientation match your existing setup.

Install the tee in the correct flow direction. The switch paddle must sit properly in the water stream, and the cable should be routed away from sharp edges, hot surfaces, and moving equipment.

Do not overtighten the switch into the tee. After installation, restart the pump, check for leaks, and confirm the salt chlorine generator recognizes proper flow.
