1) Unplug the power cord from the back of the unit
2) Lift up on the front cover (you may need help from someone else) and remove both screws located on either side of the power cord connector
3) Lift off the top cover of the salt cell
4) Touch down on both sides of power cord connector while keeping bottom cover in place (it will spring open), then replace top cover and screws
5) Plug in power cord and replug in wall outlet
