This GLX-FLO-HP flow switch is intended for compatible HP-style Aqua Trol systems. It should not be treated as a universal flow switch for every Hayward salt chlorine generator or every pool plumbing setup.

If your system uses a different Hayward control setup, the Hayward GLX-CTL-TR-HP-T control unit may be helpful to review for HP-style Aqua Trol compatibility.

For standard Aqua Rite-style systems, the Hayward GLX-FLO 15 feet cable flow switch may be a different replacement option, so confirm your system style before ordering.

When to Replace the HP Flow Switch

This flow switch may need replacement if the system shows a “No Flow,” “Low Flow,” or similar warning while the pump is running and water circulation is normal. It may also need replacement if the cable is damaged, the switch is stuck, or the connector no longer reads properly.

Before replacing the part, check the pump basket, filter, valves, water level, plumbing, and salt cell for restrictions. Low water movement can trigger the same warning even when the flow switch is still working.

Installation Guidance

Turn off power to the pump and salt chlorine generator before removing or installing the flow switch. Release system pressure and confirm the flow direction before installation.

Install the switch in the correct position so it can sense water movement properly. Route the cable away from sharp edges, hot surfaces, moving equipment, and areas where it can be pinched.

After installation, restart the pump, check for leaks, and confirm that the Aqua Trol system recognizes proper flow.

Related Flow Switch Options

If your system uses a standard tee-style setup instead of an HP setup, compare this item with the flow switch assembly with PVC pipe tee before ordering.

If you already have a usable tee and only need the switch assembly, the Hayward GLX-FLO-RP 15 cable flow switch assembly without tee may be another related option to review.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance

Inspect the flow switch during seasonal startup and whenever the chlorinator shows a flow warning. Keep the pool filter clean, maintain proper water level, and check the salt cell for scale buildup.
