Compatibility Notes
Use this replacement only if your salt system supports a T-Cell-15 style cell and your controller is set for a T-Cell-15 / GLX-CELL-15 style replacement. Do not order by image alone; verify the cell label, controller setting, union size, and cable connection. If you want to compare the branded option, review the Hayward T-CELL-15 salt cell before ordering.
For full system matching, compare your setup with the Hayward W3AQR15 AquaRite salt chlorination system and confirm the correct cell type, controller model, pool size, union size, and cable connection before purchase.
If you are comparing other compatible T-15 style replacements, review the Simple Cell replacement salt cell before deciding which salt cell best matches your system.
What This Replacement Salt Cell Does
The salt cell helps convert dissolved pool salt into chlorine when installed with a compatible salt chlorine generator control system. This can support routine pool sanitation, but the pool still needs regular water testing, proper salt level, balanced water chemistry, and filter maintenance.
A worn, scaled, or failing cell may cause low chlorine output, incorrect salt readings, service lights, or reduced chlorinator performance. Before replacing the cell, check salt level, water flow, flow switch condition, water balance, water temperature, cell cleanliness, cable condition, cell age, and controller cell type setting.
Installation Notes
Turn off power to the pool equipment before removing or installing the replacement cell. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for flow direction, union connection, O-ring placement, cable connection, and controller cell type setting.
Do not force the cell into place. The replacement should match the correct plumbing size and connection style for your system. If you need a temporary bypass while servicing the system, check the GLX-CELL pipe replacement before leaving the plumbing open.
After installation, inspect for leaks, confirm the controller recognizes the cell, and allow the system time to begin producing chlorine under normal operating conditions.
Cleaning and Maintenance Tips
Inspect the cell regularly for scale buildup, debris, or visible wear. If cleaning is needed, follow the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions and avoid scraping the plates with sharp tools.
For safer handling during cleaning, a Hayward TurboCell cleaning stand may help support compatible T-Cell style salt cells during maintenance.
Keep the pool water balanced and maintain salt within the controller’s recommended range. High calcium, poor water balance, low flow, incorrect salt level, or heavy scale buildup can reduce cell performance and shorten service life.
Before You Order
Confirm that your existing system supports a T-Cell-15, GLX-CELL-15, or compatible 40,000-gallon replacement cell. Also verify the cell label, controller cell setting, cable connection, union size, O-ring condition, flow direction, flow switch condition, salt level requirement, warranty terms, and whether installation parts are included.
