Installation Instructions

Before Installation:

  1. Turn off the pool pump and disconnect power to the salt chlorine generator system.
  2. Allow water pressure in the plumbing system to fully release.
  3. Confirm the replacement salt cell matches IC40 model only.
  4. Inspect O-rings and union connections to ensure they are clean and undamaged.

Installation Steps:

Step 1– Power Off System:Shut off all electrical power to the pool pump and IntelliChlor control unit before installation.

Step 2– Remove Old Salt Cell:Loosen the union fittings on both ends of the existing salt cell and carefully remove it from the plumbing line.

Step 3– Check & Lubricate O-Rings:Inspect the O-rings on the unions. Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant (non-petroleum) if needed to ensure a proper seal.

Step 4– Install New Salt Cell:Position the new IC40 replacement salt cell in the same orientation as the original unit. Make sure the flow direction arrow aligns with the water flow direction.

Step 5– Secure Connections:Hand-tighten the union fittings evenly on both ends. Do not overtighten.

Step 6– Restore Power & Water Flow:Turn the pool pump back on and restore power to the IntelliChlor system. Allow water to circulate and check for leaks.

Step 7– System Check:Verify that the system recognizes the new salt cell and operates normally by observing system indicators.

After Installation Tips:

① Allow the system to run and confirm normal operation.

② Follow manufacturer recommendations for system settings and routine pool maintenance.

③ Periodically inspect the salt cell for scale buildup and clean according to standard pool care practices.
